I have a 72 challenger that was in the 2005 Dukes of Hazzard movie. The movie was a flop by my standards and I do not hink it added any value to my car. I did however get James Roday (Billy Prickett) to sign the side of the car. Should I start the restoration process or leave it as is? That is the question.

Thats a tough question. I don't know how much value the movie adds to the value of the car. But I do know that there are many Dukes fans that would maybe in the future pay to have a peice of their nostalgia. Your choice, but I'm not sure theres a clear answer.

I did not see the movie, but true enough there are a lot of Dukes fans out there and they love all of the Dukes' shows. My six year-old likes the Dukes and we watch it together. That would indicate that say in ten or twenty years there will still be Dukes fans. Hey, it's good, clean family fun, so why not let kids watch it. Tomorrow they will be adults and we will be seniors and eventually dead.

Regarding your car...I would forget about putting it back to its stock configuration. It has no great value that way. Definitely keep it in its movie form. You will have to decide if the body was bondo'd to death and has a weak shell. If it needs help, then restore it exactly the way it was in the movie, right down to the stickers and their exact locations. Don't change the color or interior. Put a nice, healthy motor and trans in it and start taking it to shows. Write to the studio and see if you can get any stills of the car from the film or during filming.

Good luck and Mopar to ya!
