1970 Dodge Challenger SRT-8 Convertible

Dodge is such a tease! Rumors had been flying before SEMA that a new Challenger would be on display at the upcoming Detroit Auto Show in January, and just to make sure we were all paying attention Dodge has dropped a modern day 6.1L HEMI V8 into a classic 1970 Dodge Challenger convertible. This is more than just an engine swap, check out the interior pics and full specs after the jump. Eric says the buzz on the show floor is that this 500-hp engine will go into the new Challenger and it will also be offered as a crate motor. He also wanted to make sure we noted the displacement in cubic inches – 392 – a historically important number in Hemi history, which is why it''s so prominently displayed on the valve covers.

Nice ride! 392=6.4L, 426=7.0 :-)
As long as you are upgrading the rotating assembly you may as well go all the way. Very close to the same money.
