My first car was a 1972 Cuda in 1982. It was the only car I wanted. 340 S motor that screemed. I put a 440 in it with 3.91 gears a few years later. Metallic gold with black side stripes and Centerlines. As a teenager, I had no problems living under the car, but these days my back can't handle that.
i wasnt calling BS on you Dark! i believe you..i think that its awesome! how do you resist the urge to drive it?!
I never thought you did, sorry for the confusion. I have guys ask me all the time how do I resist taking it for a drive, my answer is..... that wasn't my dream as a kid.
do you have pictures of it? and of the 812 miles, why were those miles put on? cruising? the sudden need for a car?
Pictures are on my home computer back in Michigan ( I'm at my winter home in Alabama ), did you check out the Camaro link to see the picture posted there? I'll be home in Michigan sometime in April, I can take all the picture you would like and e-mail them to you if you would like.
I believe it was September of 68 when I picked up my Cutlass at the factory, the 69 models had just been released. I never drove the Cutlass to work but would do a little cruising with my friends on the weekends. It probably was sometime in November of 68 when I put the Cutlass away, I never drove the Cutlass again until 73......drove it seven miles to a new home....and it hasn't been driven since. BTW, not sure what you meant by " the sudden need for a car? ".
Yes. I could not either. I wouldn't drive it all the time. Maybe once a week to work during the nice months, and on weekends. I thought it would be bad not to as far as the engine.
Do you start it once in awhile? Change the fluids regularly?

I have no plans of ever driving my Cutlass, I never start it becasue there's no reason to..if I were I would need to get the temp high enough before turning it off or you'll only cause problems. When I put the car away I changed the oil/filter, put a few drops of oil down each cylinder and keep 45 lbs of air in the tires...that's it.
