Mine was a '76 MGB that my Dad gave me for taking such good care of it and doing so well in school.

I spun a rod bearing in it while in college and took that opportunity to build it up...Crane "World" Cam, Weber 45DCOE sidedraft carb, 5-ring pistons, new oil pump, valves, optical ignition, the whole deal. It already had other goodies on it, like a tube shock conversion kit w/KYB's, lowering springs in front, de-arched leaf springs in back, Pirelli tires, roll bar, air dam, front & rear sway bars, free-flow exhaust, fog lights...and DODGE CHALLENGER WHEELS. Yep, remember the little, wimpy Challenger, probably some 80's version? Same bolt pattern as my MG. Allowed me to put 205's on it.

It would keep up with a 240z with a 6 cylinder, no problem. Hey, that was good for an MG! Rode like a skateboard but I could 4-wheel drift that car through a turn like nobody's business, the balance was so good.

Ah, memories.

NEXT!

68 Plymouth Fury III 2DR. Hardtop with a 318. It was kind of a mutt, but it was a beautiful car. Bronze with a black vinyl top and interior. Got my first ticket in that car. When the trooper asked if I knew I was going 86 in a 55 I told him I didn't think it would run that fast. He got a chuckle out of it and wrote me for 70 in a 55 so I wouldn't have to appear before the judge.

Depends on what you define as being my first car. The first car I had to drive was a '96 Olds Ciera that my dad had me drive after my brother was done with it, problems, problems, and more problems. How I hated that car when my dad first got it for himself. It broke down the first week he bought it. If you define my first car by which one I picked out, my current car is my first car. A '97 3.5L powered Intrepid, hence my name on Dodge forum and my signature. I have put around 44,000 miles since I got it. It hasn't been perfect but it has been a good car over all. If I ever trade in this car, it will be replaced with a 425 hp Challenger with a 6-speed.

BadStratRT, how fast were you going?

A brand spanking new 1976 Dodge Aspen R/T. She was Metallic black with red body decals and a white interior, automatic stick on the floor. I ordered it upon leaving my first tour in Germany and picked it up in Maryland.

Man I was 20 years old and in love with that car.

Those Aspen R/Ts had the 360 engine in it. That must have been a fun car to drive. My dad had an Aspen, but it was only a Slant Six, unfortuneatly.

Yes you are right but I was very young and could not afford the insurance of a 360 so, the 318..
